Abstract:
Using graphene oxide prepared by improved Hummer method as reinforcer, Graphene oxide/aluminum based powder was obtained by electrostatic self-assembly technique. The composite powder was reduced under H2by using a tube-type atmosphere furnace. Graphene reinforced aluminum matrix composites were prepared by powder metallurgy and spark plasma sintering(SPS). The microstructure and comprehensive properties of the composites were studied by SEM, XRD,Roman spectra and compression test. The results show that, graphene is uniformly dispersed in the matrix and the properties of the composites can be significantly improved. When the mass fraction of graphene is 1wt%, the properties of the material are the best, the hardness reaches 31.10 HV, which is 135% higher than that of pure aluminum. The compressive strength of the material is 217 MPa, which is 162% higher than that of pure aluminum, and the comprehensive properties are significantly improved.
