Abstract:
The electron beam melting purification of zirconium was studied, and the purification effect of electron beam melting of non-gap impurities and interstitial impurities in zirconium was analyzed. The results show that Fe, Cr and Al can be effectively purified by electron beam melting zirconium, and at the level of impurity content of raw materials, the removal rate of Fe, Cr and Al by electron beam melting is about 69.3%, 71.4% and 61.5% respectively. When zirconium is melted by electron beam, the O element increases in primary melting. The secondary melting ingot(EB2) is about 4.2 ×10
-5 lower than that of primary melting ingot(EB1), but electron beam melting has a weak effect on oxygen purification. When zirconium is melted by electron beam, the C element can not be purified but rise.
