    Preparation and Characterization of Ti3SiC2 Material

    • 摘要: Ti3SiC2作为一种三元层状可加工金属陶瓷材料,由于其本身的优良性能,已被作为金属基复合材料的强化相而广泛应用。以Ti/Si/C/Al为原料构成,通过预扩散处理与真空无压烧结工艺制备Ti3SiC2材料,利用XRD、SEM等分析合成产物的物相组成和微观结构,研究了预扩散处理对Ti3SiC2原料粉体的影响和烧结温度对制备Ti3SiC2相的影响。结果表明,预扩散处理使原料粉体中各元素充分扩散,活性得以提高,促进了烧结时Ti3SiC2相的形成,降低Ti3SiC2相的形成温度。Ti3SiC2粉体的微观形貌分析,证实了具其层状结构的特征,其单层厚度可达50 nm。

       

      Abstract: As a layered ternary machinable cermet, Ti3SiC2 has been widely used as the strengthening phase of metal composite materials due to its many excellent performance. Using Ti/Si/C/Al as the composition of raw materials, Ti3SiC2 material was prepared by prediffusion treatment and vacuum pressureless sintering process. XRD and SEM were applied to determine the phases and microstructure of the synthesized products. The effects of prediffusion treatment on raw material powder and the effects of sintering temperature on preparation of Ti3SiC2 were explored. The results show that the chemical component is refined and its activity also increases by prediffusion, which encourages the formation and reduces the formation temperature of Ti3SiC2 phase in the sintering stage. By analyzing the morphology of Ti3SiC2 powder, the layered structure, in which, the thickness of the single layer is only about 50 nm, can be found.
