Abstract:
The TA5 titanium alloy rods were forged on SXP-13 radial forging machine by using four radial forging processes. The microstructure and non-destructive testing characteristics of the bars under four processes were analyzed by tensile properties at room temperature, impact toughness at room temperature and ultrasonic non-destructive testing. The results show that increasing the forging temperature is helpful to improve the microstructure uniformity of TA5 titanium alloy bar, and the near β-zone forging is more helpful to improve the tensile strength, elongation and impact toughness of TA5titanium alloy bar at room temperature.
