Abstract:
The shot peening technology was applied to strengthen the surface performance of tungsten as the first wall material in fusion device. Taking the surface strengthening of tungsten as the purpose, it was the analysis that the evolution of the microscopic morphology, grain refinement, surface roughness, surface hardening and surface residual stress with air pressure, ceramic pellet diameter and pellet distance. The results show that the surface performances strengthening of tungsten are mainly affected by ceramic pellet and air pressure, and the impact of pellet distance is small. The diameter of ceramic pellet is the main factor of tungsten surface hardness under the air pressure of 0.3-0.6 MPa. For ceramic pellet with the diameter of 0.3-0.5 mm, the air pressure is the main factor of tungsten surface roughness. The shot peening process has obviously strengthening effects on the surface performance of tungsten, and the increase of tungsten surface roughness is not obvious. It is the suitable shot peening parameters that the ceramic pellet diameter of 0.4 mm, air pressure of 0.30 MPa and pellet distance of 100 mm for tungsten material.
