Abstract:
Metal materials with good mechanical properties, electrical conductivity and machinability are the research hotspots of bipolar plate materials. Light metals, such as titanium and aluminum, have a competitive advantage in improving the power density further of fuel cells due to their lower density. Therefore, the application of the two kinds of light metals,aluminum and titanium, in fuel cell bipolar plate were systematically reviewed. Each kind of light metal was classified and summarized according to the essential properties of the matrix. The existing problems of light metal as bipolar plate were analyzed and the future development of light metal bipolar plate were also prospected.
