Abstract:
FeNiCrBSiNbW amorphous coatings were prepared by high velocity wire arc spraying and were subsequently annealed at different temperatures. The crystallization behavior and its influence on the electrochemical corrosion characteristic of Fe-based amorphous coating were investigated.The microstructure and electrochemical corrosion behavior of the as-sprayed and annealed FeNiCrBSiNbW coatings were characterized by XRD, SEM, DSC and electrochemical system.The results show that with increasing annealing temperature, FeNiCrBSiNbW coatings show reductions in amorphous content and porosity, indicating degraded anti-corrosion performance in 3.5 wt%NaCl.The superior anti-corrosion performance of the as-sprayed FeNiCrBSiNbW coating is attributed to the high amorphous phase content and the absence of borides in the coating.
