Abstract:
Zr-4 and Zr1Nb alloys were used as the material of end plug for Zr1Nb cladding, respectively, and the end plug and the cladding were welded using tungsten arc inert gas welding technique.Comparative study of mechanical properties of the both welds was conducted using the normal temperature burst test method and microhardness test method, and the corrosion resistance of the both welds was studied using the corrosion tests in water at 360℃and in steam at 400℃.The result shows that the mechanical properties of the both welds are equivalent and the corrosion resistance of the Zr1Nb/Zr-4 weld is better than that of the Zr1Nb/Zr1Nb weld.
