Abstract:
In order to further improve the plasticity of TB6 titanium alloy without reducing the strength to meet the engineering use requirements, the effects of heat treatment systems on the microstructure and mechanical properties of the TB6 titanium alloy bars were studied by different heat treatment processes. The results indicate that, with increase of aging temperature in convention heat treatment, the αsphase precipitated become more coarse and distributed unevenly, the strength of TB6 titanium alloy decreases and the plasticity increases. After solution treatment below the phase transition point, with the increase of the solution temperature, the strength of the alloy increases and the plasticity decreases slightly. The plasticity of the alloy can be significantly increased by solution and aging after annealing, but it has little effect on the strength.
