Abstract:
The effects of symmetrical-cross rolling and asymmetric-cross rolling on the microstructure of AZ31 magnesium alloy were studied by optical microscope and EBSD.The results show that asymmetric-cross rolling is superior to symmetric-cross rolling in grain refinement. The average grain size of AZ31 magnesium alloy is 10 μm after four passes of asymmetric-cross rolling and annealing, while the average grain size of AZ31 magnesium alloy after 4 passes of symmetrical cross rolling is 20 μm.Compared with that of the symmetric-cross rolled AZ31 plate, the (0002)basal texture strength of the asymmetri-cross rolled AZ31 plate is lower and the polar axis is deviated about 20°from ND direction.
