Abstract:
In order to improve the wear resistance of special steel surface of shield hob, its ordinary texture surface was laser quenched. The microstructure was observed by metallographic microscope and the microhardness was measured by Vickers hardness tester.The friction and wear tests of untreated surface, ordinary textured surface and laser quenched textured surface were carried out by high-speed and high-temperature friction and wear tester, and the wear marks and wear morphology were observed and analyzed by laser confocal microscope.The results show that the average hardness increases by about 7.95% after laser quenching, and the friction coefficient and wear amount of ordinary textured surface and laser quenched textured surface reduce. Compared with ordinary textured surface, the wear of laser quenched textured surface further reduces. The wear mechanism of untreated surface is mainly abrasive wear and adhesive wear, while that of ordinary textured surface and laser quenched textured surface is mainly abrasive wear. The application of laser quenching texture surface significantly improves the surface hardness of shield hob and helps improve the wear resistance of special steel surface of shield hob.
