Abstract:
Carbon fiber pre-deposition was pretreated by the combination of slight-oxidation and propylene gas predeposition to improve the wear performance and improve the service life of the brake disks of carbon/carbon composite materials. The inertial bench test results show that, compared with the untreated brake disc assembly, the average wear rate of the whole life stage of the pretreatment brake disk is reduced by 30.47%, which has a good effect on improving the life of the brake disk, the average deceleration rate is comparable to that when untreated and does not damage the braking performance.Pre-deposition slight-oxidation acts as abrasion and "coarsening" of the carbon fiber surface, while propylene gas pre-deposition treatment enables the good interface of the initially deposited carbon matrix and carbon fiber, thus improving the wear performance of the carbon disk.
