Abstract:
In order to improve the performance of FSW joints of 6082 aluminum alloy, FSW experiment of 5mm thick 6082 aluminum alloy plate was conducted. After welding, the welded joint was subjected to natural aging, artificial aging, T4 (solution treatment + natural aging) and T6 (solution treatment + artificial aging) heat treatment, and then the metallographic structure and mechanical properties of the welded joints were analyzed. The results show that after T6 heat treatment, the hardness of the welded joint is uniform and reaches the hardness level of the base metal, and the tensile strength is above 200 MPa in both air and 3.5% NaCl solution; after T4 heat treatment, the ductility of the welded joint is superior, the elongation is about 25.5%, the hardness of the welded joint is uniform but only half of the base metal hardness. Artificial aging heat treatment can improve the hardness of the welded joint in a certain extent, but its corrosion tendency is the greatest; the welded joint after natural aging heat treatment has the smallest corrosion tendency. The joint in T6 state has the lowest corrosion rate and the joint in T4 state has the highest corrosion rate.
