Abstract:
The large thick 6061 aluminum alloy coatings were successfully deposited on ZM6 substrate by adjusting the working gas temperature(400 ℃,500 ℃,600 ℃)at high nitrogen pressure(5 MPa).Then, the 6061 aluminum alloy coating deposited under the optimum temperature conditions was selected for friction wear experiments with the block 6061 aluminum alloy. The coatings and the worn surfaces were characterized by OM,SEM and 3D profiler. The results show that the 6061 aluminum alloy coating deposited at 500℃has the best overall performance with porosity of 1.89%,microhardness of 78.18 HV0.1,and the bonding strength of the coating with the ZM6 substrate exceeds 62 MPa. Without the addition of other hard phases, the single-component 6061 coating maintains wear resistance, which is similar to that of the block 6061 aluminum alloy. There is both adhesive wear and abrasive wear.
