13amorphous ribbons were prepared by arc melting combined with vacuum ribbon spinning. The microstructure and thermal stability of the alloys were analysed by X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC), and the corrosion resistance of the alloys in 32 wt% HCl solution was investigated by kinetic potential polarisation and immersion experiments. The results show that the alloy has a typical amorphous structure and good thermal stability. Compared with that of Hastelloy C276 and 304 stainless steel, the corrosion resistance of the alloy in 32 wt%HCl solution at 25 ℃ is significantly improved, with stable passivation characteristics and a wider passivation interval Δ
E. The self-corrosion current density is about 33.3% of that of C276 and 0.6% of that of 304, an d the dimensional passivation current density is reduced by about one order of magnitude with respect to that of C276 and 304, and the electrochemical corrosion of C276 and 304 account for 10.3% and 33.5% of the total corrosion, respectively. In32 wt%HCl solution at 80 ℃, the alloy does not undergo corrosion weight loss, and the corrosion rate is much lower than that of C276 and 304.
