Abstract:
A certain thrust bearing ZSnSb12Cu6Cd1 tin-base alloy layer frequently has oxide inclusions and a small amount of porosity defects after casting process. Through the observation of macroscopic and microscopic morphologies and EDS analysis, it is found that the secondary oxidation inclusions and insufficient compensation are the main causes. Three key measures were put forward: increasing pouring temperature of alloy, introducing vibration pouring and adding filter sheet, and the single factor process tests for the three key measures were carried out. After verification through penetration test, the addition of filter sheet demonstrates the best filtering effect for oxide inclusions, effectively addressing the dot-like defects on the alloy surface and improving the casting quality of the thrust bearing tin-based alloy.
