Forming Reason and Example Analysis for Bright Strip and Dark Spot in Titanium Alloys

Bright strip and dark spot always occurs in the macrostructure physicochemical inspection of titanium alloy,which is harmful to the fatigue resistance and fracture resistance. Bright strip and dark spot encountered in actual inspection of titanium alloys in recent years were analyzed, and then three forming reasons were concluded: the elements segregation in titanium alloy ingot; abnormal microstructure caused by improper hot working; surface overheat caused by improper cold working. And the reasonable solutions are put forward in this article according to the three forming reasons.
