Abstract
The effect of amorphous zirconium micro-arc oxidation electrolyte on the morphology and properties of the coating was studied. The surface morphology and phase composition of the coating were characterized by SEM and XRD.The hardness and wear resistance of the coating were evaluated by microhardness tester and friction and wear testing machine. The results show that the ceramic coating can be formed on the surface of amorphous zirconium by micro-arc oxidation, which can significantly improve the surface hardness, reduce the friction coefficient and enhance the wear resistance of amorphous zirconium. The optimal electrolyte formula is Na4P2O7 (10 g/L), KOH (40 g/L), KF (5 g/L) and Na2SiO3 (45 g/L), and the hardness of E7 coating reaches 794 HV0.1, which is 1.7 times than that of amorphous zirconium matrix. The friction coefficient of the coating is 0.18, which is 0.42 lower than that of amorphous zirconium matrix, the wear resistance of the coating is better.
