Effect of Rolling Deformation on Microstructure and Electrical Conductivity of Al-Mg-Si-Sr-B Alloy for High Strength Wire

    • The Al-Mg-Si-Sr-B alloy was cold-rolled with different deformation amount, then aged at 160℃×4 h.The effects of cold rolling deformation on the microstructure and properties of the alloy were studied by OM, hardness test and conductivity test. The results show that with the increase of rolling deformation amount, the hardness of Al-Mg-Si-Sr-B alloy increases gradually, and the conductivity decreases first and then increases. The hardness of 80% deformation amount cold-rolled alloy reaches the maximum value of 101.6 HV, and its conductivity is 56.0%IACS.The cold-rolled alloy does not undergo recrystallization after aging at 160 ℃×4 h, but still retains the rolled fibrous microstructure. When the rolling deformation amount reaches 80%, the grains of the alloy are completely broken and the microstructure is fibrous.
