Research Progress on Welding Technology of 7xxx Series Aluminum Alloy

7xxx series aluminum alloy, as the metal material with the highest strength in all series of Al alloy, has excellent comprehensive properties. And it is widely used in various fields. From the actual welding quality and welding efficiency of 7xxx series aluminum alloy, the development status of several common welding technologies of 7xxx aluminum alloy was summarized, focusing on the technical characteristics and application prospects of traditional arc welding such as MIG welding, cold metal transition welding and tungsten inert gas welding, and new welding technologies such as laser welding, electron beam welding and friction stir welding. The corresponding advantages and disadvantages of different welding technologies and the urgent problems to be solved were summarized.Finally, the development prospect of 7xxx series aluminum alloy welding technology was summarized.
