Abstract
The effects of Cr3C2 content on the microstructure and wear resistance of Fe55/Cr3C2 coatings prepared by laser cladding were investigated using SEM, EDS, and XRD techniques. The results show that the Fe55/Cr3C2 coatings significantly improve the microhardness and wear resistance of the H13 steel surface. The Fe55/Cr3C2 coatings primarily consist of hard phases such as Cr7C3, Cr2B, and Fe2B, which act as a reinforcing framework and effectively inhibit plastic deformation during the wear process. When the Cr3C2 content in the powder mixture is 20%, the grain size in the coating decreases from 31.6 μm to 19.6 μm, and the maximum microhardness of the coating reaches 1504.7 HV0.2, which is 4.1 times higher than that of the substrate. The wear rate is only 0.32% of that of the original sample.
