Abstract
Particle reinforced aluminum matrix composites have excellent high specific strength and high specific stiffness, which are applied in the fields such as transportation, aerospace, aviation, ships and other industries. For thin-walled structural parts such as cylinders and boxes with complex structures, their forming is difficult, the machining allowance is large, and the production cycle is long. In this study, the preparation of particle reinforced aluminum matrix composites, welding wire preparation and WAAM tests were carried out, and the mechanical properties of particle reinforced aluminum matrix composites WAAM specimen after T6 heat treatment were analyzed. The results show that the metal mold is used to cast particle reinforced aluminum matrix composites, which improves the cooling rate, refines the grain size, reduces the segregation of components and ensures the uniformity of the structure. By controlling the deformation ratio of single pass rough drawing and fine drawing, supplemented by intermediate annealing treatment(410 ℃±10 ℃, holding for 1.5 h), the welding wire that meets the requirements of WAAM can be prepared. The wall additive manufacturing samples with good forming and no pores are obtained by using the prepared welding wire under appropriate process parameters. After T6 heat treatment, the tensile strength of WAAM samples is 370-390 MPa, the yield strength is 320-335 MPa, and the elongation is 2.5%-4.5%, which meets the requirements for use.
